My GIO T3 Rebel is getting really smokey exhaust!

The T3 is getting pretty smokey. It fills my shop with a white smoke. Is this oil burning? or a rich condition? It doesn't smell like oil burning at all.
I seem to have a problem with the carb as well. It quit the other day after I ran it for a 5 hr trip. It's second full day of off roading. I started it up in the trailer the day after it ran well, then it just quit. I finally got it going again several days later by covering the air intake with my hand and pushing the starter to make it suck fuel through the line and carb. This happened before as well, after by buddy drove it through a big puddle and sucked up water into the intake. When it gets like this, I can only get it going by covering the intake and hitting the starter.

Could there be a carb tear down in my near future????? or is the engine messed up?
I hope the question isn't a cop out in doing the work and finding out myself, but I seem to have little to NO time these days.

Thanks for the help...

I'd promptly change the oil and clean the carb. I'd also make sure that the vent hoses are completely clear and unobstructed (also not kinked).

White smoke is a bit odd.

I can't think of something internal in the motor that would cause that.

I would follow W&G's advice and see where it leads you.

Well white smoke to me means water in the fuel. or in the exhaust pipe. I woudls check to see if you got water in the fuel and also in the oil. Is this bike liquid cooled if so then it's a bad head gasket. Or gasket not sure how the run the water jackets on these engines.

It's air cooled which is why I find it odd. Water in fuel or lines would be gone fairly quickly not smoke and fill up a shop.. I would guess?

in car engines

blue smoke = oil
white smoke = coolant

Have you ever changed the oil on this atv. Is it possible it's the crappy oil that it was shipped with burning. Many of us have found that it's pretty hard to call the factory oil actually oil. White smoke is moisture. Because it has now smell it is I would say it's steam. Remember 1 cup of water boiled makes enough steam to fill a balloon 300square feet. So we are all telling you it's moisture so go ahead and drain the fuel and the oil add some fresh stuff and let the bike run. The get back to us.

Any chance the air filter is watersoaked? It is air cooled so that takes alot off the list of possibilities. I guess I would check the oil for contamination and also its level.

Maybe it just needs a good cleaning and fluid change?
