Swing Arm bolt?
I was reading another thread and didnt want to hijack... (cheap bike worth risking lives? thread)
It was brought up a few times about the swingarm bolt, is there some problem with them? would changing the bolt to another bolt be a good idea, or is there some design issue? Disclaimer* Im not too mechanical, but trying to learn. It also mentioned about breaking spokes, but that probably is universal to all spoked wheels? Until I got this bike and browsed these forums I never thought of checking spoke tightness (I put 3500K on my vulcan and never even checked the spokes once) |

I felt my spokes by hand. The fronts seemed looser than the rear but I think that's just because of the length. They all seemed to be close to the same tension so I'm not going to mess with them.
I've tried to lube my swingarm bolt but the dang zerk is way too lose. Need to get a gun with a flexible cable instead of my straight rod gun - it doesn't fit in there. |

The swingarm is all new to me (since I've been MIA from the net for 6 months). But I'd like to know what the discussions were about and did anybody have a failure? Is there a thread buried in here somewhere?
As for the spokes, is it standard to have to look after the spokes of any "dirt" type bike of just these Chinese. I'm not really sure how to actually check them other than the fact that they all feel "tight" when a finger is ran over them. |

swing arm bolt. 2 have broke so far and a lot of bad gress fitings. Vivas come with no gress in the swing arm. and on Rachs bike , had a wobble at high speed about 60mph. I tracked down to play in the swing arm.

Mine sheered right off at the bolt head after about 4000 miles. I think it is cheap steel. I had to search through a mountain of used bolts at a local MC mechanics garage to find a replacement.
