that cable costs about 30 dollars, to get a shop to repair it will cost about 15 dollars.
Appologies, the camera I am using is on its last leg.
So here is the steps to do it yourself.

all it takes is a drinking straw check the diameter of the straw! Mc D's is too big, taco bell is too small razor for cutting handy set of pliars, and of course jb weld.

next cut the straw to match the plug that was lost, cut hole for cable to go through,

here is the important part. make sure to fray this endpiece really good, too much it wont go back into the straw too little the jb weld can't hold it.

put the frayed portion back into the straw

mix the jb weld and work into the straw. Now wait to dry.

I plugged the hole in my muffler 2500 miles ago using JB weld and a piece of metal cut from a mint tin. Holding like the day I plugged it.

Must be a country boy! Bailing wire is the schiznit!

When it come to JB Weld... carry some with you and a section of cloth (like light canvas, a fairly loose weave works well). If you're out in the woods and knock a hole in you crank case you can smear the cloth with JB.. bingo! instant case patch! Works on radiators too.

Just come across this tip and I'm intrigued as to the integrity of the new JB nipple.
In my day (admittedly a long time ago!) we would only ever try to mend a nipple like this with solder and even then I would have been wary of it's integrity !
Can the JB solution really be strong enough to withstand the pull of, say, a brake lever ?
Or is this tip only intended for non essential cables like the choke ?

jb weld is some strong stuff, it comes in 2 forms. one being like the above where you have to mix it, and the other is jb weld stick. which is a putty like stick of it. you kneed it together untill it turns a uniform color and then apply..

i had to plug a hole on the intake of my stang with jb weld about 40k miles ago.. its still hold strong

id be worried about it, but i would try. i mean its worth a try just make sure to test it before depending on it. jb weld is some strong stuff.. i made a fire poker out of a carbon fiber tent pole and a old center punch.. using jb weld, and ive thrown that thing like a axe, spear, poked fires, threw it as hard as i could across the yard trying to get the punch to break loose but it never did


go buy a tube of the jb weld stick, take a peice of it and kneed it together, roll it into a stick like a pen and see how much force it takes to break it..
