I'm sorry to hear of your problems, Fish. :( I'm sure Pitster Pro can print another MSO that is acceptable to the DMV Nazis.

Spray some brake cleaner on the bottom of the engine, and hose it off. If the oil doesn't return after you run the engine, you don't have an oil leak.

I think FastDoc is correct; you can probably fabricate something to make your speedometer work, but you shouldn't have to. :( If Pitster can't correct your speedometer problem, you can ask them to refund you the price of a Trail Tech Vapor, digital speedometer. With a Trail Tech Vapor you can eliminate the speedometer cable, and instead run a line to a pickup coil, mounted on your fork. The Trail Tech Vapor will also give you a tachometer, and a trip odometer, both of which are currently missing on your motorcycle.

Has Daddy469 received his left crankcase cover? If not, Pitster Pro might be having difficulty obtaining parts from Xingyue, in China. This scenario could explain your difficulty in getting your speedometer problem resolved. :(

Daddy469 has not, but he did update the story in the dealer discussion . I feel bad for ya'all having issues at the DMV. They are always super nice to me. Helps to bring brownies

Thanks for the update, Daddy! I hope you get your part soon so you can ride your bike once again, before the weather gets too cold.

I was born, and raised in Pennsylvania. Based upon my experience, I don't believe even fresh-baked brownies would placate the DMV Nazis in the Keystone State. :(

pitster

3rd attempt with new paperwork,,,,successssssss,,,,,,walked out with registration paper and a plate ,, so hopefully will get the title in a month and all will be good. Then I went to get bike inspected and no go ,state of PA stops motorcycle inspection after october,,,,,,go figure.Wasnt sure if I could get it by anyhow cause my speedo cable broke in the first 15 minutes,,,been waiting from a response for 3 weeks from pitster,,,,,,,Finally i called today .i asked why no answers to my emails ,but all they said was they didn't have any and were hoping to get some next week.So i encourage everyone to try and get parts for the 400 and lets see if they come thru.

pitster ,,,and PA dmv

you need to tell pitster when you buy the bike you are in PA ,,,, that you need a mso on secure , watermarked paper,,,,that the mfger. must say Xingyue ,NOT PITSTER,,,,get a vin verification form form any title/License broker ,,,, take the bike to a inspection mechanic,,, have him verify snd sign the form,,, get the bike insured ,,,, take these three forms to Penn Dot and it should be good.

Then pay PennDot money, swear allegiance to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, et cetera...
