Thanks for the oil filter info! I changed my oil recently but just reused my old filter because I wasn't sure which one would fit. That is awesome

According to forum member FinnRider, his Xingyue employs a Honda oil filter, part #15412-HM5-A10. The following website, and others, state this oil filter is also equivalent to another Honda oil filter, part #15410-KF0-315.

http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/5703-0625.html

If these two Honda, oil filters are equivalent, the LXT 400 employs the same oil filter as my Honda XR650L. Here is a list of aftermarket oil filters equivalent to the two Honda oil filters.

Fram CH6015
HiFlo HF112
Wix 24944
Purolator AL16815
Napa PS4944
Tusk TK112
Neutron 1245540002
Emgo 10-99200
K&N KN112

I just bought some Neutron 1245540002 filters from Rocky Mountain ATV for $2.50 each. The Napa PS4944 is stocked at most NAPA outlets, and you can find the Fram CH6015 filter at Auto Zone.

Just slow. Maybe they recieved a large supply of parts for the bikes. The look to be very promising as the next phase of china bike. Alot of new riders will be getting ready to upgrade to a larger machine. If these prove to be a reliable ride that does have parts support it should become a good seller.

Good news indeed! PP would get a bad rep quick if they were selling bikes with no parts support! Now my only other question is, why is the bike $2000 in the US and $4500 here?

Cheers,
Stew

That's an excellent question Stew. I wonder if we could bring them up from the States; RIV would likely accept them, since they're already here.

It's funny too, they were asking $5300 for them here a year ago... About $1500 less than a brand new KLR 650. If you import one I wonder if there would be customs/taxes and import fees? For sure an out of country inspection. I'm not in the market for another D/S right now but a 400cc D/S would be sweet!

Cheers,
Stew

Thanks for the list of filters Spud!

While we are on the topic of importing, maybe someone could answer a question for me? Through Alibaba.com I have been in contact with a manufacturer of 250cc enduros that are much like the Hensim250db, but with upside down front shocks. They are willing to sell 5 bike samples to new buyers. They have quoted me an amazing price for the 5 bikes, but I have no idea how customs works when importing such things. Does anybody know how to import bikes from china? How hard will it be for me to get these delivered to my door in Illinois. They are talking about shipping it to "OAK" which is a port in Minnesota call Oak Island. Do I have to have a dealer license to get 5 bikes?
Here is a pic of the bike

I bet it is tougher than it seems. What about EPA and DOT?

You're welcome. I discovered a K&N oil filter, part #KN112, is also equivalent to the Honda oil filters I listed earlier. Therefore, I have edited my previous post to add the KN112 oil filter to the list.

think,
You need to have the EPA and DOT certificates like Cal25 said plus you need a MSO or COO or MCO that specifies that the bike is for on road use plus a on road VIN number.

Before I paid for my "sample" Chinese Mini Jeep in 2007

I had copies of all the above documents emailed to me.

I had the mini jeep shipped to the Port of Miami from China and had the documentation mailed to me.

I paid another $350 in DOT,EPA, tariff, etc fees in Miami to get the vehicle released to me.

Be sure that all the documentation is legal or the bikes will be destroyed by customs at the port of entry.

It can be done but there is some risk involved.

Okay. Going to need some more info on the mini jeep. That should fit into the UTV forum.

X2! Stop teasing us with a single photo of the Mini Jeep, Bar! Seriously, we would love it if you would please start a new thread on the Mini Jeep in our Carts, Buggies, and UTVs Forum!
