Storage for the Q

Hi all I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to what would be a good storage solution for the XP 200. I'm not looking to turn it into a touring bike or anything but it would be nice to have a little storage, cant even fit a screwdriver on it as is! I was looking into the Nelson Riggs soft saddlebags, not sure if they would fit on the XP with the way the exhaust sweeps however. Any suggestions/insights would be welcome!

These are quite popular and very handy. I had one on my Lifan.

Plus they appear to be on sale.

Also, I have a coupon code you can use for 15% off of your order. (it expires on the 31st of Jan). Use the code AEEAAX1 in the checkout.

There are some very nice very high quality racks made for the DR200SE available from www.happytrails.com, but they are not inexpensive.

Factory Q racks are of excellent quality but rare in this country. I don't think there are any more to be had. People have made the rack for the XT225 (IIRC) work with minimal modification.

Usage of any saddlebag would have to take into account the exhaust heat and discharge, the real wheel and spokes, and the blinkers.

I agree with Jim; I really like the J.C. Whitney travel trunks. I have steel mounting plates for the J.C. Whitney trunks on both my Zongshen 200GY-2, and Honda XR650L motorcycles.

However, FastDoc is correct. You will need to select, and install a luggage rack on your XP200 before you can employ either a travel trunk, or a soft bag. As Doc explained, the heat from the muffler can cause problems with saddlebags.
