Sourcing a Decent Digital Dash for hawk?

Hey guys,

My hawk should be here soon and one upgrade I'd like to make that isn't really necessary, I just want it, LOL is a digital dash upgrade. I had a look around the forum here but it seems people have stopped selling them?

Does anyone have a good source for something decent that won't cost half as much as the bike.

Thanks!

Makes sense that you'd wanna do it before adding miles to it.

This one here is pretty nice.

Ok so just so anyone that's searching for this same thing knows.....Matt is no longer selling these. I emailed and got an automated response. Bummer cause they were half the cost of that ebay one.

Has anyone tried a digital cluster from aliexpress such as this one.....

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...3e242e0eeN7hhM

it looks like to get one for the hawk it's gonna be $200-250 but I wonder if one of these would work, the shape is the same so I'm sure I could get it to mount. Might take some figuring out for the wiring. But also I'm wondering, it probably would need a magnetic wheel speed sensor as well?

Or actually I just found this one too - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...%2316062%23337

This is the same cluster that came on my Hawk DLX. Works OK. The speedometer pickup on the wheel is electronic - there are some on Aliexpress for about 7 bucks.

Can I ask why anyone wants to change their stock instrument cluster? I prefer analog gauges, but I'm kinda old...

Ah, makes sense. I didn't realize that the clusters didn't have a tach. Tachometers, although probably not necessary with these bikes, are fun to watch.

Ya, the tach is one thing I'd like to have and I dunno I like the digital look. I had analog on my GS850G and liked it just fine too though.

When he says the cables tend to break, the word he meant to use was "always."

The internal gears are also notorious for stripping out very quickly, and they are also not calibrated at all and read extremely high (going 50, reads 60).

Also, I would rather have a tach than a speedometer, especially for off road riding.

So the second one I linked....

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...16712e0ertEEbx

Appears to be very similar to the one Motocheez installed a few years back. Not sure if he got his from Matt or Tako but for $25ish I think I'm gonna just order it and see how it works....I'm gonna take measurements on my wheel speed sensor as well so I can order one of those at the same time. I don't mind waiting a month, especially to get out of this for under $50

Motocheez got his from Matt, as did myself and many others. The one pictured there is similar, just different display colors. Otherwise, most of these clusters are all pretty much the same. The only thing I would make sure you need is the speed sensor as that cluster just appears to be a cluster.

Whatever you do, don't spend the $250 on the one on ebay. That price is ridiculous.

Ya, that was my thought too. As soon as I measure my wheel speed sensor I'm gonna give that one I linked to a shot and see how it goes.
