VIVA arrives damaged, gets refused

Well, it arrived at my local transit place at 6am Friday. It didn't get unloaded untill 12pm and it wasnt going to get delivered untill Monday. So I opted to drive down and get it myself today. When I got there the guy was working on getting it out of the truck. The pallet was completley smashed, he couldnt get his forks under it. The metal frame around the bike was bent/twisted. Around the front fork area is what concerned me the most. The forks bolt to the cage and that area was all bent. Forks looked straight but I wasnt going to just eyeball it. The typical cosmetic rubbing damage was there, along with a broken rear turn signal. Parts were flopping around inside the box, not fastened to anything. I refused shipment on it. The claims guy came and looked at it, gave me a copy of the unsigned manifest. Said he was going to send it back. I called VISA and put a dispute on the charge. Then called VIVA and told them about the issue and dispute. I asked for my money back and they said OK, just fax us your invoice and signature. I'll let you know when the money gets credited.

This must be how they get thier spare parts?

Anyone know of a GOOD place to order from?

Oh, and it was a Blue one, had NST stickers on it. Looked kinda like a Roketa.

Best off refusing by the sounds of things... hopefully you got the shipping insurance...

Here is a site that sells Hi-Birds... I had a very good experience with price product and shipping.. What you see is what you get... no bs here...

if you click on the handlebar above the description you can see the bike..

I dont think insurance matters, it wasnt lost or stolen. This was damaged beyond being acceptable. I saw it, all the freight guys saw it... They even agreed with me, said they wouldnt take it either. VIVA blames it on UPS and UPS blames VIVA for poor packaging... Let them bicker it out, VISA is on my side either way.

Have you tried T-Motorsports out of California?? It seems to me that people are not doing too bad ordering from them and they have alot of parts in inventory...

Thats very appealing. There's a place out of Ohio selling the Hi-Birds on ebay as well. I got my eye on both. But like i said, Im not making any moves untill this gets settled. If VIVA has enough disputes thorugh CC companies, eventually they will get dropped and not supported. Its a shitty process to go thorugh, but its the only guarentee'd way of getting something done. All of this could've been avoided with 20min of pre pack labor... IMHO they deserve it. I really wonder if they dont pull this stuff to get freight claims and free parts.

Before I'd pay $2395 for a Lifan, (no offense intended) I'd look long and hard at the Unied Motors DSF-200. The DSF-200 is $2799 and I'm sure you could shop around and get a deal on one.

Just a thought!

Hi jkomp316
Be careful about that place in Stubinville, Ohio {Wildfire} that sells the Hi-Birds. I had a customer just by one there after looking at the A. Lifan LF200GY-5. There are a lot of differences between the two. His Hi-Bird has a lot cheaper tires on it, the plastics don't fit right, the battery box is on the left outer frame side by rear wheel is in a Plastic box {one jump it breaks}, the frame is a lot smaller round tubing/steel than the A. Lifan, the air filter cage fell apart when I was showing him how to oil the air filter {just taking the foam off the cage}, etc. etc.
I personally know people that have purchased scooters, quads & bikes from him and can't get parts or the correct parts. I had a guy call me yesterday that already needs an engine for his 150cc scooter that blew up, he lives in Newbury Oh. Another customer has a 150cc scooter that he can not get to run correctly, he has been trying to re-jet it for a while and says Wildfire is no help, Mantua, OH. Both of these this week. Another customer bought a 110cc quad from him he needed a rear carrier & bearings they tried telling him it wasn't theirs till he read the vin from the title and told the guy where he picked it up, he was sent the wrong rear carrier for the rear axle, didn't ever get the correct one Streetsboro, OH.

scootersfactory.com and xxx-motorsports are the same outfit....I know they are 2 different sites, and maybe physical addresses, but the people you talk to are the same,.....and even some phone numbers/extensions are the same...........

prices and products are the same, too, as I remember

anyone know the whole story/connection?
