Which FMF exhaust??
I'm looking into getting an after market exhaust for my roketa db07a, looking for more power specifically. I read alot about spark arrestors on here but I ride on the street, I'm not looking for an obnoxiously loud system either. I want something to reduce weight and increase HP. Interested to hear from some people what their thoughts are on this matter.

Spud has had excellent results with an FMF universal muffler: http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=8587

I love the FMF turbine core 2 universal on my Sierra. It is a bit loud tho. I like the loudness because it really does alert people to your presence but there are times when I wish I could turn the volume down a little. Maybe I'm just getting old.

My hearing must be shot; I don't think my FMF Universal Spark Arrestor is loud.

I have VERY sensitive ears. I wear earplugs all the time while riding now, even on my Gold Wing. Same for my lawnmower, powersaw, and of course shooting. I won't even hammer a nail without earplugs.
Decades of powersports has left me with a little tinnitus and hearing loss. ![]() I encourage all of you, my friends, to protect your hearing! Ear plugs and a good muffler! I put a Q4 on my YZ because it was the quietest high performance unit available. I have the quietest insert made on my Two Brother's Racing pipe on the KLX. All my other machines have the stock muffler. My Zong with a Turbine Core I thought was too loud for me. NOT obnoxiously loud, but too loud for my ears. Brother Spud's Zong seemed quieter. Maybe because most of the ride was at lower power settings at high altitude with little or no high speed street riding. Also the wide open spaces in the Rocky Mountains soothe my soul. 8)

Good point about the packing.
People also need to remember to not let it get wet while washing the bike as this can damage the sound reducing properties of the packing. Maybe the PO of my Zong got it wet. It did not have enough miles on it to have worn out the packing.

Indeed! My FMF silencer has a very large exhaust port, so I use a big, FMF Wash Plug to close the port whenever I wash my Zong.

Would the same one spud got fit my roketa dbo7a? Or for what Honda model would be my best bet? And if I don't plan to ride on trails any better system to offer more power, around the same price. Than the fmf mention above

Your exhaust header seems to have a several bends which might cause problems mounting the FMF silencer. Check the following thread to see if the information applies to your motorcycle.

Just seems the next jump up to a slightly quieter unit is multiple hundreds of $$$. Not an option........

If you think the FMF TC2 is too loud, you really should repack it with the Lexx MXe Premium Silencer Packing I recommended several posts above.

I repacked the FMF Powercore (different than but similar to the TC) on the YZ before I repalced it with the Q4 and it did not help in that particular case. Worth trying though.
The Q4 made a very large difference. That's why I'm paying for one on the KLX also. My hearing is worth it. ![]() On the trail the louder pipes may be OK. It all depends on the engine load and RPM's, and the motor itself. Airbox design matters a lot too. My CB175 has a quiet and smooth exhaust but a loud induction system at hig manifold pressures. Go figure.
