Your Longest Ride in a Day?
Yesterday I completed a 240 mile highway ride on my Lifan (see ride reports). It left me wondering what other long rides have been ridden on these bikes. What about you--what is your longest ride in a day?

240 miles or kilos? Doesn't matter to me that's a LONG, LONG ride for my booty on a little 200.

He converted to miles for us. That is a long ride on a 200. I am planning something similar in August, but about half of it on gravel/dirt roads.

I did about 300KM last weekend, checking out my new 17 tooth. Mostly 80 to 90 Kph. Toronto to Barrie and back. I didn't go the direct route, and I rode around Barrie for a while. I'm not getting the vibes some of you are getting so I was fine after. I need a bigger tank Speedo still works and shows 1800 Km. I haven't had it that long, under 2 months. I'm planning a ride, Toronto to Sarnia 320 Km each way. If I break down my brother will come and get me. If I make it, he saves on gas and I get a ride to really talk about.

Had a weekend out camping, did 325 miles on the Friday going, and another 325 miles coming back on the Monday. Took about 7 hours riding time plus a couple of good stops. It was one of the motorcycle clubs I'm a member of's big annual get together, and I always turn out whatever the diatance!!! The previous weekend I was in North Wales, a mere 200 miles each way. The bike never missed a beat and nothing fell off.

Jonathan, you are an animal. Was it really miles & not km?
I once did 550 miles on my ninja, but that doesn't count. I did that twice in a week.

Those are real miles, for a small bike it's not half bad. The small fuel tank's a bit of a pain, I've got to do some homework for out of normal hours gas. I've had 3 weekends out this month and managed 1800 miles, 3 more weekends out next month closer to home should manage a further 600 miles.

I'd like to double my gas tank size. I'm not getting the milage I used to. When I do the carb it will eat gas even faster. Switching my 15 tooth for a 17 turned my bike into a little cruiser. (What i'm looking for) I don't get the vibes that some are getting, or I just don't know any better, I'm new to riding.

About 70 miles on the Diamo.
About 800 miles on a VX800 Suzuki and about the same on a 1983 GoldWing Aspencade (several times). I'm not an iron butt kinda guy, but it's a LONG ways to get out of Texas when I'm heading west. I live on the gulf coast and I like to make it to Las Cruces before I stop. I did Russel, Kansas to mid Texas coast in a day once coming back from Sturgis. That was on the VX. I thought I had a hemorrhoid for a day after that. Every job has its tool. Riding to Arizona on a Diamo 200 is kinda like trying to make a 200 yard drive with a putter. Well, I'm not a golfer, maybe like trying to drive a nail with a screw driver? |

i think my longest is about 70-80 miles. I know that my feet and butt get numb from the vibes of keeping it at 55-60 for that long.. but it seemed to hold together.

If you mostly or totally street ride, the o ring chain is a good thing. If you do a lot of off road in grit and mud, it's not such a good idea. The dirt tears up the o rings pretty quick. Really fine sand is the worst and that's what I have down on my place.
