Hola from Bolivia

Hello everyone I am an American living in La Paz, Bolivia. I had to leave all my bikes in the US but I am itching to get back out and do some riding. I left behind a 01' KX-500, 98' KTM RXE 400, 92' FZR600, a couple z50's from the 60's and 70's, as well as the wife's TTR125 and son's KX-100.

Since the price of Honda's are quite high here in Bolivia I am looking into a knockoff. I had purchased one for my son in the states (a XR100 clone) which was an excellent bike. I think these bikes are excellent in terms of value, and are a load of fun.

I am glad I found the forum as there is a plethora of info which I will be using to help me in my choice.

The time has come for me to pull the trigger on the bike purchase. I was hoping to get a Pegasus from a guy at work but looks like I will have to buy new. I will post some pictures of what is available her in Bolivia. I live in La Paz so I will head up to El Alto where things are a bit cheaper. So far what I have seen is a price difference of about $200 from the models with drum brakes to the newest ones with two disc brakes. Other than that I have seen no difference in the standard equipment. Stand By for pics....coming soon.

Welcome! One of our members is an ex-pat living in Peru. I wonder if the brands available in Bolivia are the same as those in Peru, or are Bolivian brands exclusive to local importers?
