(((Where to buy Parts))) 07 Hi-Bird QH 200GY

Hello! I recently bought a 2007 Hi Bird 200Gy as my first ever motocycle!(Broke College Student)
I believe I got a really good deal/price, I am looking to change a couple things around and repair some things. Could anyone tell me any compatiblity specs with other bikes or where to buy replacement parts?

Some of my items im looking for info on are:
Plastics
Exhaust
Passanger Foot Peg(Right side is broken needs replaced)
Rear Luggage Rack
Healight(One mount is broke, still holding on by a bolt though)

Any information you could spare on this model/year is greatly appreciated!

JOHN

Welcome. You will likely have to make some parts fit, but alot of China bikes use the same pieces.

Welcome; we are glad you joined us.

You can find many parts on eBay. Hooper Imports is another good source for parts.

I know that the main components of my Hi-Bird are a Honda copy but what exactly is it a knock off of? I am wanting to purchase a owners manual to check spcifications etc..

The bikes are generally a knock off of multiple bikes made into one. The frames are close to an xr200. Engines are close to a cg125 honda that was not imported to the US.

That is probably the best way to answer your question...there really is no one model, but many of these bikes can exchange parts with each other. I know that the HiBirds were manufactured by one of several OEMs for Lifan, and that their 200 (and for a limited time, 250 which was really a 223cc) was a spitting image of the Lifan GY-2 bike (Lifan's GY-5 bike was more popular in the US) and had the same drivetrain being the 163FML 200cc engine as the GY-2, as well as frame, etc. Of the GY-2 (it might have also been called the G20).

Hooper imports has, or has access to, Lifan parts galore which should keep you on the road. Also, try www.motopartsmax.com which has many parts for all kinds of Chinese bikes.

FYI-
I emailed Hooper imports after going to the site and seeing that most of the parts that I was looking for were listed as sold out. Larry Hooper the owner informed me that he will not be getting those parts back in stock as he can no longer get them from China.

I found this site:
http://www.china-parts.co.uk/acatalog/Luggage_Rack.html

however it is overseas and the costs are quite a bit higher.

You can order everything you need for incredibly low prices directly from China. I just placed my second order on Taobao, and purchased a bunch of parts for my Zongshen 200GY-2.

After riding 60,000 miles on my Zong, the clutch basket was badly notched. I could have ordered an identical, Yamaha TW200 part for $267.79.

Instead, I ordered a Zongshen part from Taobao for 310 Chinese Yuan, which is $52.70.

I'm not the only one capable of navigating the Taobao website. Several members of these forums have purchased from Taobao, with excellent results. You can set up the Google Chrome web browser to automatically translate the web pages. I also employed TaobaoTrends as an agent to facilitate my Taobao purchases.

Find the correct parts on Taobao is actually pretty easy, as long as you use the correct search terms. For example, I find parts for my Zongshen 200GY-2 using the search terms "zs200gy-2" and "lzx200gy-2." QLink owners can find an amazing number of parts using the search term "qm200gy."

Finding replacement parts is just another one of the challenges of owning a Chinese motorcycle. As I often say, owning a Chinese motorcycle is quite different from owning a Japanese bike. Owning a Chinese motorcycle requires more patience, resourcefulness, and a good sense of humor.
