Another Early B'day

Like 2LZ, I received an early present, though not bike related.

It's a wood box. There could be anything in there. Even a wood box.

Oh my.

NOS Russian Zenit 122 35mm camera, circa 1997.

Darn nice little outfit. The setup is for Photmicrography* but I'm more interested in the camera body. The light meter takes 386 batteries and I have a fridge full of 357's, so a trip to Menard's before I take it out for a spin.

The wood box is pretty nice, too.

*I'd give that a shot, too, but my microscope, that I've had for well over 50 years, just ain't compatible.

AWESOME! I'll have to show this to Mrs. 2LZ! Though she doesn't have anything super fancy, her and her dad love the photography. Congrats cheesy...and happy early birthday!!

Real Answer, yes. There is more Ilford and Fujifilm available than Kodak now. There are still places that develop and print. Just not as many. And back when I dated your babysitter, you could get film developed just about anywhere.

In them days you had to have at least a 1/2 brain to take a picture!

Today I have seen pictures baby's have taken and there is a series of selfies that a chimp took floating around on the internet that there is quite a fuss about. Seems an animal rights group is fighting with the photographer who's equipment the chimp used for the copy rights! The selfie pictures are quite good too. I believe today a plant could take a picture!

There's one good thing about buying your own gifts; you always get what you want.

Wasn't a bad weekend for my 60th.

Grandson took me and Grayma(seriously, that what her calls her) to see the movie Zootopia, although his mom and dad paid. Go see it, the scene at the DMV is worth the price of admission.

Curd #2 gave me a $100 Visa gift card. At about $6.50 a fill up, that buys a lot of gas for the CX.

Curd #1 gave me an Amazon gift card that I have plans for.

Mrs. C gave me a box of things with a theme. Took a minute to figure out that it meant that she wants to do the South Africa trip we looked at.

Happy 60th!

So cool that you're planning a SA trip.

I think my daughter has the same Zenit, although I don't think she has any accessories.
