Head Scratching Why not a bigger enduro/DS/ADV bike for US?

? for Adam @Rps and the CSC bunch: Why can't Zong or whomever, send us something bigger in the DS range. A quick look at Alibaba show many 300. 400 and even 450 cc dual sport/enduro/adv type bikes being produced in China and the only thing for certain in China (apparently}, is if one mfg is making something, pretty much everyone else has a similar version :}
Certainly no issue as to market for them here soooo, where's the "BEEF"?

We get these here via SSR (their 250cc and 450cc dirt bikes) as well as Christini AWD motorcycles, but CCW teased us for years with photos of a dual sport and motard which never materialized. Apparently, their French importers helped design the cool-looking rally bike. Perhaps we can convince them to bring in their lineup?

Not just that but the Chinese haven't been very good at building larger displacement motors over the last decade. I hear they're getting better. Just ask FastDoc about his "Pitster Pro 400 From Hell". What had the appearance of possibly being a really nice ride ended up self-destructing in short order.

I'd be a little weary of a bigger CB...until someone puts their best foot forward and proves otherwise over some time. I think the people who COULD build a good, reliable 400 would be Qingqi. They have an awesome product.

My speculation is that the tooling universe is setup for 250 single cylinders anyways in China. It's the easy thing to sell. Also would it be a EPA obstacle? I'm sure with the boatloads being sold in the US (pun intended ) that something new is sure to arise from china. Good thread!

And likely double the price of the current China bike offerings.

It would seem that SSR would use Qingqi since their XF250 is manufactured by Qingqi, but I am quite sure Asiawing is an entity unto themselves. The two liquid-cooled dirtbikes sold by SSR are Asiawing OEM. Cleveland Cyclewerks was supposed to bring the motard and enduro, and teased us with photos of them for years on their site, calling it 'da Hooligan' but now they are not shown, although ironically, CCW seem to use Qingqy as OEM for their 3 bike lineup, at least their engine (they used to use Lifan as OEM), according to the 'list' from the EPA for on-highway-legal motorcycles.

Wade from Excalibur has not listened to my suggestions before (i.e. when we were discussing the RX3 waaaaaay back when, and when CSC were still selling Mustang replicas and had not mentioned anything of bringing in the RX3 themselves, I told him to look into those....), and lately, I told him to at least distribute to his dealers, and sell mail-order retail, the Hawk.

However, I will still 'pitch' the Asiawings to him. I am guessing since the dirt bikes get decent reviews from mainstream magazines, or at least the 250cc version, that the enduro/motard and rally versions will be decent bikes, quality-wise. I hope he brings them in, but I am not holding my breath either. Besides, the Asiawing site mentions a chopper and a cafe racer for 2017 which might make the chinabike world a little more interesting should those get the 450cc, liquid-cooled engines and make their way here...

Here is a Benelli 502 Adv unveiled in India last month. If SSR brings this over I would consider one... if it was made by qingqi.

Spud, Weld....look at seat/frame structure under the seat, this may be prototype but does this look beefy enough in your experience.

The frame will certainly support a rider. However, I can't see enough of the subframe to judge its ability to carry heavy loads.
