Just curious to what makes them different what makes this carburetor better than the stock
or is it just more user friendly

Also for those of us with less experience, does the one in the link plug and play or do you have to mess with it to get it to fit?

Doesn't the TT ship with a fully tunable carb? I was under the impression they even have a tutorial on tuning it, sell the jets, and the needle has a clip with multiple positions.

that s a good price! just make sure you have the right flange for the honda derived motor, which is a bolt on carbie, the yamahas are the spigot type.

there are rubber flanges on AliExspress... Wheather they are the right ones for
your motor i have no idea... but worth checking out..may get lucky...

On the TTR250 i had to make a 20mm thick nylon block to go between
the flange & motor to get the carb back far enough to get it into
the air boot from the air cleanner...

On my Rhino, it was plug-n-play. The mounts were the same distance apart on the head flange. I'll need to measure the TT and see. You just had to change the slide on the cable (the Mikuni's is larger) and hook it up, not counting jetting options. Since the TT doesn't have a cable choke, no biggy there either.

The stock carb looks ok. I was checking it out last night but it appears the Mikuni is a larger diameter carb. I'm not sure what size carb the TT comes with but the slide looks small in diameter, which would translate to a smaller diameter bore as well.

Another nice thing about the Mikuni is jets are readily available and it's a popular model. I'll probably end up swapping over to one when I do the pipe down the road. I'm not sure of the diameter of the air inlet snorkel on the stock box. If it's too small, I'll go to a pod filter. Mrs. 2LZ won't be submerging her TT anytime soon.

The TT's carb is tunable and I think they carry jets at CSC. One of the guys there told me they'd played with them a bit and got good results with going richer on the main jet and leaner on the needle setting. That should keep part throttle cruising from being too rich and give an increasingly richer mixture as the throttle is opened. He didn't know the jet size and I forgot to ask the mechanic.

My X-moto has the original carb on it with very good results, just with jetting. No need to change it. The newer ones are usually sealed up (like on my Rhino) and it doesn't leave many options but replacement.

It will be neat to see what CSC has available for tuning.

As of a couple weeks ago CSC didn't have jets in stock yet but jets are available elsewhere. They are Keihin style main jets available at JetsRUs or Dynojet. I'm sure you can find others on ebay.

https://www.jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_ca...und_28-xxx.htm

or at Dynojet but I think you need to call Dynojet to order individual jets.
http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/jetkit-assortment.aspx

Also the DJ jets have different sizing from Keihin jets but JetsRUs has a handy conversion chart for Keihin/DJ/Mikuni
http://www.jetsrus.com/FAQs/FAQ_miku...ihin_sizes.htm

The stock main jet is a 108. I'm currently running a 102 Keihin jet and the needle on the top notch, leaner for my 5800+feet. Planning to ride more at 8,500 to 11,000+ ft so I'm trying to lean it out a good bit for even my current elevation. I bought a few different sizes to tweak as needed.

It really takes about the same amount of time to get the plastics, seat and tank off as it does to pull the carb and change the main jet. Even easier to adjust the clip on the needle jet. The owners manual/cd or the carburetor maintenance tutorial on CSC's site has all the pics and procedures needed.
