Too Many Toys, Not Enough Room

Can I see a show of hands for those here who also suffer from this malady?

At one time, I could fit everything (bikes, quad, tools, lift, etc...) in the garage. Around six months ago, my brother insisted I buy his '96 Corvette (I couldn't turn it down for the price) so he could upgrade but one of the purchase stipulations was that it had to be stored in the garage. It has always been garaged since it was new. This presented a problem for the bikes.

So, I bought a pair of "Costco Garages" (10X20 tents) and stuck them in the driveway. The wife's car now sits under one and she's fine with that. It stays snow/rain-free.

It just doesn't seem right that while the Corvette sits all fat and happy in the garage, our bikes are officially "homeless", all huddled together outside in a tent, surrounded by snow. I checked on them the other day.....and now to salt the wound, the Towhees decided to get out of the weather and go under the tent walls, sit on the seats, mirrors, bars and crap on everything. Looks like I need to cover them with old sheets or something.

I really need a shop or sell a few things.

Ok, rant over.

One of these should do the job. I bought one in the fall and they work great:

I also have what some might consider to have "too many toys out in the sun"... but luckily I have plenty of "room"... not all of it is roofed, we have plenty of land out here ... the motorcycles/atvs/mowers/tillers will always be "inside" one way or another... to many stories of "light things" being stolen and never found off properties in the boonies.

"One of these days" I will get everything restored and stored in a Jay Leno style garage... but not any time soon

3 early 1990's Eclipse clones
2 Subaru Foresters 15 years apart
2 early 1980's T.A. Firebird
2 early 1990's Jeeps
1 1997 Geo Metro
1 1992 Honda Accord
4 push mowers
2 riding mowers
1 tiller
2 Dual Sports
1 Dirt Bike...

Many others I'm forgetting about... but you get the idea... too many toys

Oh...

Soon to add a 125cc Chinese ATV and a "110cc pit bike" for the kiddo, and will also get a Lifan KP200 soon if we can find a dealer around here to see if the Mrs. fits on it will take a little longer to get the Lifan if just I fit on it but a 6 speed Lifan with fuel injection cometh thy way

We use a lot of these at work for storage. Both enclosed and open. Cheap and the price includes delivery and assembly.

I had a neighbors cat do that. They likes to claw the seats. I had to redo my Husky seat, thanks to the cat. It didn't go as far as shred it but there were millions of little nail pokes.

I have a 30x50 building and 4 acres.
I've been looking at one of those for my Camper. I have a small shed for the UTV, My larger shed houses the Hawk, Coolster 150 and assorted wood working tools, ( Bandsaw, Table saws, ect.) and outboard motor. I have a 10x20 portable tent garage for the canoe, riding mower and push mower. No garage, only a full carport with car, truck and DJ trailer. I really want to put up a 40'x50' metal building to replace all the individual sheds.

You say malady, I say therapy.

We're about to downsize, so the problem would be worse for me, since I'll be losing my 10x20 shed. I'll still have a double garage, but that's it. I say "would", since a very generous friend of mine has provided storage space in one of his unused barns. My plan is to take one bike at a time to the new house, finish it and then sell it.

On that note, I have gone another direction with the scrambler I'm building and have decided to use my old Roketa as the foundation. As such, I have some CT1 parts that are your if you want them, 2LZ. Let me know.

Thanks Weld...and I would but it was so far down the project list, I decided to off it. I have a guy coming to pick it up as soon as the weather clears. Just one of those I can't seem to get to and I hate seeing it rot under my porch. It's the only bike not in the tent.
Thanks though.
Bought a new house????

I think that I am going to put a new 40x60 in a few years with a heat and AC and a toilet.
