Removed the hawk from seat, gutted stock exhaust cat

Tackled 2 big things today on my hawk. Finally got that hawk label off of the seat. Took some brake fluid on a rag and rubbed the crap out of it nice and hard for 5 minutes and the letters disappeared no problem.

Also cut the exhaust and removed the stock cat. Holy hell was that a headache. Would of been easier to cut it out and replace it completely. But after almost 2 hours I had the cat out and it welded wrapped and re installed. I drilled around. Hammered a punch in and used pliers to rip it all out little by little.

It was tough to remove . Welding another piece of pipe In there would of been easier. When I did mine it was a spur of the moment thing and didn't feel like going out a getting a piece of pipe. In the end it was well worth the effort.

I removed one from a scooter muffler once that was an absolute bear. It amazes me that the engine can even start with the cat in there.

Brake cleaner also works to remove lettering on a vinyl seat, but use it sparingly.

Right behind the heat shield next to the cylinder. Take that heat shield off and it will be super obvious where it is.
