New Carb and Jets coming for the Apollo RFZ

Hey Guys,
Since I had some time running the Apollo I finally got into it hard. It bogs really bad on hard throttle. So I ordered a Mikuni VM22, Intake, and Jets to replace the Jingling (or however you say it). I live in SC at an elevation of 643'. I'm just wondering what main jet to install as a baseline? Thanks in advance.

seems these Mikuni carbs come with a 98 main jet. I'll just start there and move up I guess.

The Mikunis I've installed have come with a 100 main and a 20 slow jet. At your elevation, you could probably start with a 110/115 main and a 27.5/30 slow jet. The sweet spot will be in there somewhere, depending on intake and exhaust mods.

I got my Carb kit in today. I can't wait to compare the carb and intake I got to the stock one on the bike. I cracked open the float bowl. It had a 98 Main jet and it has a 38 pilot jet. I left the pilot and installed a 110 main. I'll see how this does. I'm gonna leave the needle in the middle.

I installed the new carb last week with the setting listed in my previous post. I could not use the intake that came in the kit. I had to use the factory intake pipe. The new intake is turned a bit to far out and the carb interferes with the frame. But, the bike is MUCHO HAPPY now. The little 125 pulls hard all the way through to WOT. I will have to check the spark plug to see just how happy she is. This is a great carb kit for the money. I recommend it 100%. https://www.amazon.com/TC-Motor-Miku...and+intake+kit

Your's came with a 38 pilot? I got mine yesterday, and I could have sworn it said 15 on the pilot i pulled out.. I want to say mine was a 95 or 98 main. The pilot jet was real hard to read.

I installed a 20 pilot with a 112.5 main. I am at sea level. I have not installed the carb yet though.

On my Apollo 250 RX I have a 30mm Mikuni with a 30pilot, and a 120 Main, and the bike runs great.

I also just bought an Apollo DB-18 125cc. I purchased the 26mm Mikuni for the Apollo DB-x18 125cc just like letsride. Should I have the jets almost the same on both engines? I have a 25, & a 27.5 pilot jet handy, along with a 115, and a 117.5 main jet.

Letsride, did you mess with the air screw? Mine is set from the factory at about 3/4 open from closed. Also, thanks for the help on Youtube.

I double checked the jets that came out of my Mikuni vm22 from the factory. From what i can read on the pilot jet, it looks like a 15. When I compared it to the 25 and 27.5 it looks samller. The main jet was a 95. I'm going to start with the 25 pilot, and a 112.5 main, with the needle clip in the middle. I'll post my results hopefully this weekend.

Wow, I totally dropped the ball on this thread. I was away from the site for a bit. I could of swore the pilot said 38 but I could be wrong, which I probably am. I will have to check it again if I have the carb off again. But for now the thing is just running to good to mess with it. I left the pilot jet that came in the Carb and put in the 110 main jet. I turned the idle air screw out 1.5 turns from lightly seated. And my needle clip is right in the middle. My spark plug is a nice brown color. The bike runs fantastic. Actually I'm downright impressed how good that little 125 hauls my big butt around LOL. It will run 52mph flat out according to a GPS App. But it never sees speeds like that bumping around on the trails with my little guy.

My Ruckus is at 38/80 right now and the other seem small on the slow jet.
VM22 is that the 26mm? is the VM22 better than the 26mm one I have now? Sorry I dont know what the quality diffrence is between carbs. I thought I had to go bigger.
