Well from what I see it has a nice beafy frame, no kick start, tops out at 68 mph with a SIX speed trans, 17 HP, 21' and 18' inch tires with a NON-counterbalanced engine, and inverted forks.
The first picture shows the rear sprocket on the right side but then shows it on the left side in the second picture. The real question is = How much and what is the availability? |

Have you tried Sunright for the wheels? I am curious what they would charge for the set.
The Loncin is not currently EPA/DOT certified so it is a no-go for now. If you are itching to get on a cheap, brand-new bike in California, the only options are the little Grom-like-vehicles either from Boom! (the Vader 125 and the series of near-similar bikes from Boom!), the SSR Razkull, the two Ice Bear ones (Fuego and Little Monster), or the Taotao Hellcat. I do believe that Boom's Ninja-looking full-ish size 125cc bike is EPA/DOT certified on the same certificate as their minis, even though it is far larger. Once you get out of that price territory, you can buy used bikes, or consider the TT250 from CSC. We are limited in California, as far as bikes that come shipped to your house in boxes go (the minis and the Ninja-ish bike could be picked up in person, while the TT250 would be something to ride home on from Azuza).

It's true California does have its own emissions standards, but California is the only state that allows lane splitting and there is no annual or semi-annual inspections for motorcycles. So there is that.

We don't have lane splitting here, but our traffic isn't really bad enough to warrant it.

Some states require annual safety inspections for motorcycles, Calif is not one of them. Lane splitting gives motorcycle riders a big advantage especially on the clogged freeways here in So.Calif. Many times i've been stuck in stop and go traffic in my truck on the freeway and bikers just cruise on by between lanes. Makes me wish I was on a bike.

Back to the original concern........
Used CB's are almost impossible to find here unless it's a little pitbike. I've been keeping my nose in the Craigslist winds and have yet to see anything streetable. They're pretty rare birds here, used.....and as you know, people want a mint for 10 year old, thrashed and sun-baked Japanese stuff. There was a white QLink a while back but it was gone instantly. I thought that was strange.

I think a lot of the used CBs end up broken and then stuffed in a shed as well. Likely why they rarely come up for sale. Or they sell too fast, which is the case here. Every Hawk or Bashan that has gone up for sale around me seems to sell within 48 hours or less.
