Went for a Ride Today

The Hawk engine is starting to loosen up more even with just 160 miles on it. I re-adjusted the valves before I took off and it is running like a champ right now. I got it up to 64 MPH briefly and that was about all it had in it. I left the factory front sprocket on the bike but I put a 45 tooth on the rear when I initially set the bike up. I think that is a good compromise as I am 6'2" and 230 lbs. If I had a windscreen I think I could get close to 70 MPH. This is probably the last ride for awhile . It is supposed to get really cold and wet here in NC this weekend and stay cold for awhile. On a side note I ran it with a couple of cans of 4 Stroke TruFuel. We sell TruFuel where I work so it is not as expensive as buying it at retail prices (but still too expensive to run all the time). I can definitely tell the bike runs better on that stuff. It's not bad to run a can in anything that might sit for awhile. Its highly refined, zero ethanol, 92 octane, has fuel stabilizer, and is good for two years sitting in a fuel tank.

I'd say she's running pretty good for the gearing setup you have.

Hey BBowl.. I took mine out for awhile today also.. ran nice and smooth.. I had tore-adjust my rear brakes and my throttle.. other than that she was good to go.. had a lot of fun on her today... the land and some paths were still soaked with puddles and didn't want to go wash her after... I may

bring my seat down on Tuesday to have more cushion put in there..

BBowl.. You and I live right close to each other... I live in Suffolk va... I was reading that in Charles county Va.. just North of Williamsburg, there is a dirt track there that is open on the weekends... I was thinking about joining ...

Cool man. that true fuel sounds great.

It is nice when you get your bike dialed in.
