Apollo DB-36 Street Legal

Hey Ya'll,
Anyone on here have the Apollo DB-36 street legal bike? Powersports max had a good deal going on them. I think those bikes have the OHC motor too. However, the seat on the Apollo bike looks as uncomfortable as the one on my RFZ pit bike. Like sitting on a 2x4 haha. Just FYI, they also have a good deal going on the TBR7 as well at like 1,046.00.

I think somebody on here got one. Seems like he had trouble getting it started. You can do a search to find it.

Thanks, I found a few threads already. SkiRush and Greko96 has this bike. Its actually called the Apollo DB36 Delux. Man its really got me interested. And boy oh boy it looks ALOT like the SSR XF250. Which I have always liked but cringed at the price. And YES it is indeed the OHC 249 cc Motor.

Yeah it has a great engine. I have the dirt only version. I ride the snot out of mine. The little engine has never left me needing more power. Wanting more? Yes. We always want more. Frame and swing arm are well built. You just can't push the suspension. It is probably great as a dual sport.

The seat is just for looks. It is vinyl covered concrete. LOL. Unless you are young, you will want to modify it for street riding.

How does the DB 36 compare to the TW200? I'm looking to use a DB as a cheaper knock off. Man they get a lot for used TW's even 30 year old ones.

The Apollo has more power but also has a pumper carb (i put on). Was fine stock. Just took a long time to warm up. Same with TW. I will fix that when the warranty runs out. TW has smoother engine. Just really no comparison in quality. Yamaha is quality everywhere. Apollo is well built but the little things keep breaking. Bearings, seals, spokes, rear brakes, rims, and shock. But...I only ride the TW on the street. I ride the apollo like I am Gram Jarvis on the trails. It aint supposed to go the places I take it. I can't even think of taking the TW on the trails the Apollo goes on. If I were going to do dual sport with more dirt, I would pick the Apollo. For more street than dirt, the TW200 is awesome.

Short version: TW200 is smooth and quality. The Apollo 250 is cheap, fun to ride and fun to work on.

What do you mean by that?

Sent a note to powersportsmax asking about the engine, this is what they said:

DB-G017 :ENGINE 223cc,4 stroke

So either there are 2 versions of this bike (223, 249) or they don't know what they are talking about. letsride where did you buy yours at?

Can those who have these (it's not a honda?) look on the base of the cylinder, the displacement should be embossed or stamped. Do these come with owners manuals too? The bore/stroke would be great to know too.

I can't imagine the dirt and DP versions are different?

I can confirm that it’s the 166FMM 223cc OHC engine. And, yes, I own this bike...

There are 2 versions of the 223cc, one is a cheaper version like the 125cc big bore and the other is differnt specs on head bolt spaces and made more to be its own thing.

I have the cheap version in my own off road bike and its OK power n so own but prefer my RX3 lol
