Remove it is a good idea
These engines do stick out and I’ve only ever seen the common kinda ugly type

Honestly, in my opinion the kick starter on these bikes is superfluous. With a DC CDI, the bike will not start or stay running if the battery is weak enough anyway. I literally only use my kick start lever as a way to cheat in getting the engine to TDC when doing valve adjustments. I have considered just removing it and putting it in my tool box lol.

If you are hard set on getting a different one you might have to forge new territory on your own. As far as I know, nobody here has ever changed it out. Measure the shaft diameter, which is likely 13mm, and that will help narrow down what bike you could use to find something in the aftermarket. Likely something for a CRF230 will work, but again, measure to be sure.

Or you could always modify the stock one. Heat it up and bend it into a shape that works better for you.

To be honest I've never noticed the kicker rubbing my leg, but with my wider pegs I keep my feet a little farther out away from the bike. They do wonders for comfort and stability.

Found It!

I know it's been a hot minute since this post was started but I'm in a similar situation now. The ball or whatever keeps the lever from easily rotating fell out and the lever now flops around wherever it wants to. I found the below one on eBay that seems to be a direct replacement. All of the measurements check out. The stock one has a 16mm shaft and the length is roughly 290mm. It's only $17, including shipping!

You can take a Dremel to it in a few places and get it to fold in a little. I did on my Brozz and it helped.
