did you check the connection where the cable meets the speedo? Mine came slight loose and it stopped working. I know that the infamous rabbit scooters carries those parts.

Great for resale value
Or he could hook the cable up to a drill and spin it till he matches if he wanted... I believe rabbit scooters has them in their parts store, or if you have an American Lifan bike I would phone or email Bruce (EJcycles) or Top (RPM)... You also might be able to find one on ebay, likely from TMS.

I was joking about the speedometer reset thing. Just wanted to make that clear. I have not, nor would I, engage in that sort of unscrupulous behavior. I believe that what comes around goes around (bad karma), if you dish out crap, you get a plate full of crap in return.
sry to go off topic in this post, but I wanted to make certain that individuals do not get the wrong idea. |

Well I think with this is it is like that saying, half a dozen of one, 6 of the other, or whatever it is?
If he leaves it with a broken speedo and such, the odometer won't put on any more miles. If he puts on a new one it starts off at 0... I was joking about the resale value thing... I think the "proper" thing to do is note the miles when the odometer was replaced, and mention that to the future purchaser? Of course... The drill should work too...

FBI Monitoring
Do you think the FBI is monitoring this forum like Eliot Spitzers bank records and phone call.? If so I also want to state " I would never do anything illegal, ever, never no way. Of course if Kristen would have me in return, then maybe I would spin an odometer.

You are allowed to replace them if they break though aren't you? And I meant spin it forward, not backward... So it matched the old broken odometer...

Let me state how vehemently I disdain those who would for their own selfish purposes alter the odometer. And for the record, Mr. FBI fella, my avitar has absolutely nothing to do with my true feelings about the abuse and or use of controlled substances. Also, I have no link whatsoever to anyone who would in fact condone the doing of illegal stuff. Also, I am a very law abiding citizen, very patriotic and an overall nice guy who loves his government despite whatever failings it may have (which I am sure it does not have any at all).
Also, please note that the members of this forum, whether US citizens or Canadians, or whatever other nationality they may be, are all very upstanding and law abiding individuals. The only reason we ride chinese bikes is because of the cost/fun factor. If there were a US or Canadian bike of comparable quality and cost, we would of course endorse that bike above any other. Oh, and the only reason I chose a red bike is because red happens to be my favorite color. |
