New Magician

I ordered a Magician 250 from TXpowersports last Monday. It came in the following Monday and the MSO and bill of sale came in the next day. I titled and registered it in ND with no problem. I got the bike put together and have about 30 miles on it. I'm trying to get the bugs out of it, but I've only been able to get a bit over 40 mph.

I adjusted the valves to spec and the power and speed increased dramatically. Now it'll do over 60. I have a head gasket leak, and I contacted the seller. They said they'll send the gasket out right away.

When you say leak do you mean oil? If oil have them send you the o-ring too. More than likely it was damaged during assembly.

Hey. Just bought one myself. I have 80 miles so far. Do you find that the bike will die after you start it? Mine will start but will shut off if I don't pull gas or turn choke on.

The bike stock from the factory are tuned very lean. You will need to rejet and tune the carb. Once tuned properly they will run great.

Just adding a bit to JerryHawks response to Magicians running problems and to all new Chinese and other nations response to enable passing EPA stands. They need to lean out the fuel mixture to meet the air standards and most of all cowling-engine shrouds are further attempts to meet stringent noise standards.

My Magician takes awhile to warm up, but it runs fine after that. It would have to be started several times when new before it would allow use of the throttle.

Hello guys

I posted my question on another post of mine, but not sure if enough people will see it so im making a new post here.

I want to adjust my stock carb on my magician tonight. I do not have another carb to replace it with.

My bike keeps shutting off on me at idle, which I knew is common with these bikes. can anyone tell me what I need to do once I remove It to make it run a little bit better?

Yes you can tune the stock carb. Here's a good video.

Yea, I saw this video, its very informative but I get confused when he used a grinding disc? Which i don't have. I also don't have any washers or any new jets. Do I need new jets to make this run better? Not sure if I'm miss understanding this video.

I cut the slots in the screws with a hack saw. Much safer. You can pick up washers at the hardware store. Yes, You will need at least a 110 main jet.

oh ok, one last question, where do I get a 110 main jet? only at bike shops?

The bike shop should carry jets. Bring the carb with you to make sure they are the right thread. I had bought a cheap set on Amazon that worked for me. https://www.amazon.com/Wingsmoto-Mik...3847051&sr=8-8

Ok I bought those. It’ll be here Sunday. The shop near me doesn’t have any jets in stock. Hopefully these will work.
