New Hawk 250, Clutch out problems.

Hi Everyone,
I got my Hawk 250 yesterday and assembled it all together. It starts and runs great. I gear into first then slowly let out the clutch but the engine will completely stall without even moving the bike.
Does anyone know what could be causing these problems?

Have you tuned the carb yet?

Doh! Already Tuned.

I adjusted the carb for idling, runs great. The bike runs and idles in neutral and when the clutch lever is in too. I've also adjusted the clutch cable appropriately It seems to happen the second I drop the clutch fully in gear. It stops followed by a click noise. I think it might be electrical but I'm unsure.

might just be your terminology...
DROP the clutch!!! ... you feed it in slowly with a few revs on..

you could look at the clutch and side stand switches see if they are working correctly..

Question

I obviously slowly let out the clutch, but its like the bike shorts out somewhere as soon as its fully released.
I Bridged the clutch switch to see if that was the problem but it didn't help either. There's no side stand switch either.
Anyone else have any ideas?

If you rev it and release the clutch, will it begin to drive?

There doesn't seem to be any power going to the rear wheel. It just simply shuts off like it was stopped with the kill switch.

Ok work through the process of elimination. Pop off the master link clip pull the chain through and see if it will repeat the stall or will the front sprocket free wheel when you dump the clutch.

Update

Found that the rear wheel was completely locked up. I will take off the chain tomorrow and inspect it for free movement thanks!

Oh, I thought you had confirmed it was the back tire being locked up. If the tire spins freely with the chain off and the front sprocket won't, that's a big problem.

Keep us updated on what you discover.

Is the bike in gear hence why the tire doesnt move ?

Are you confirmed in Neutral.

In this day and age, no reason to not shoot a quick vid with your phone and post it.
