Lifan xpect mods/upgrades

Decided to start a thread on mods and upgrades tips/ tricks for this bike. any one is more than welcome to post in this thread. on what you have done to your bike.

Today I went ahead an took the forks off and took them appart to drain the oil and put some good 15w fork oil in. I got to say the front is so much better now. I think some spacers this bike dose not come with any. and the forks won't be half bad for what I want to do with it. the forks springs measure 24-1/4 inch and the fork is 34-7/8 inch. I put 210 mil in to each fork.

basically the same forks as the Hawks, so all the same upgrades should apply.

My guess is they build them in batches. I believe this engine is their common, but venerable 163FML engine, so they throw in what they have around on that day. But, that is just a theory. It is an interesting question!

You can also cut some spacers from PVC pipe, if you can find the correct diameter, and add some preload. Getting the fork caps back on can be a challenge though.

Weather is starting to warm up so I decided to take the xpect for a spin. Then I started to take it appart for some mods. Sorry for the mud I took it exsploring a bit.

I got the air filter out it looks kida simular to a hawk air filter but it looks smaller. I'm going to try and track down a k&n that will fit if one even exists.

I also pulled this purge tank thing out not sure what its purpose is it an emmitions thing think about leaving it out if it dose not mess anything up.

I dont think taking out the purge canister off will hurt or help anything , it just filters gas fumes . Im thinking about putting the rubber dirt covers on my front shocks.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-360MM-...6algo%3DREC.SE

I think those will look good on the bike I've debated on putting some on my bike to.

Ordered an exhaust for the xpect I ordered this.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALUMINUM-EX...epid=596867045

After watching some videos on the hawk and several pictures. it looks like the hawk and xpect exhaust look to be close to the same. My first idea and probably the easiest is to weld an o2 bung in to the new exhaust. So when I get home I'll be measuring the stock o2 bung and be ordering one to weld in to the new exhaust. I was on some welding sites and they said you can weld staineless but if you use reagular wire it will ruin the staineless around it. Witch is fine since I plan on wraping the exhaust any way.

Thanks picked the red one since it matched the red on the bike. And yes the xpect has an o2 sensor. Its on the front of the header. the o2 sensor screws in to the o2 bung on the exhaust.
