Doh! The 125ml oil cooler for CG CB Honda clones?

Ok so I bought this oil cooler thinking it would work for my Brozz. I had it all mounted and pretty. Went to screw the adapter piece in and I couldn't for the life of me seat it nicely and have the bottom plug line up? Is this not made for this engine or am I not screwing it in properly. I literally tried every which way and still couldn't get it to seat nicely with the bottom whole lined up to the bottom. Name: IMG_20200825_095713925.jpg

I have an oil cooler that I installed and had the same issue. When the adaptor was fully threaded in the two ports were not lined up vertically one above the other. So, there was no way to attach the lines.

In order to attach I loosened up (really just about 1/4th of a turn) and fitted the lines. There were no leaks, but then again I could never get any flow thru the cooler either.

I asked here for a while what this could be...but no one had an answer that worked. What I wonder is if by not screwing in all the way there wasn't a good seal where the adaptor meets the engine port (for lack of a better name).

So, I took it off and put it in my "waste of money" box. I am going to put on a small radiator fan with a switch instead. Harleys use these (a dual fan version) and it will not be a critical thing if the fan fails or gets messed up with a fall. I only need it in the summer, so will just keep the fan off for winter riding. Can't really do that with the oil cooler.

Yup same issue. Got some bloody knuckles trying to tighten it just a little bit more. I knew that not having it snug would prevent the oil from flowing through. Oh well maybe I'll have use for it down the road.

I have thought of trying again someday. Tighten the adaptor all the way and route one oil line (the one from what is sort of the back port) back and around. Haven't investigated a path yet, but there is a ton of extra line to work with.

I can't see any of the images... so searched for a 125ml cooler. This version screws into the 'screen' filter fitting on a CG from what I see. I haven't figured out the oil flow, but it seems the oil would be sucked out of the sump, through the lines, through the cooler, and into the pump if I have it figured correctly.
I don't think I have seen any other coolers are plumbed that way. I have the 'other' version on order that interrupts the flow to the rocker arms and routes the lube through the cooler and then onto the top of the head.
I chose that version because at startup, the rockers don't really need a lot of flow(they don't need a lot, in general), and they can 'wait' until the pump fills the lines and the cooler without problem. The flow to the transmission gears and bearings is uninterrupted, flowing as quickly as factory on startup.
I have no idea how much flows through any of the passages for comparison, but figure causing the least interruption, and depending upon pressure rather than suction would give a 'better' result overall.
One other thing to note is that a 'suction' type cooler will give no indication when it has a leak, and is pulling air into the lines/cooler. The flow could be reduced when the pump flows air it has pulled in, and there would be no indication. A pressure system is preferable for that reason, IMO.
Change my mind...

though I paid about 1/2 that from aliexpress.

That's been my concern too, and one reason I use the valve cover type. I did have the pressure hose pop off once and oil my shoe so it'll never squeek but I was immediately aware of the leak.
