Had a non moving accident today

Tightening chain and bike fell over...

Bent brake lever.... And I broke it trying to bend it back..

Anyone know where I can get one real real cheap?

It is still usable but ....

I am planning on selling my bike soon...Only reason not selling now is I haven't received title from DMV yet...

I wish I could sell without... I got my eye on another bike...

Any takers let me know

Not sure but I did the same thing... But I ended up under the bike.... It's not a heavy bike, though, but the license plate isn't a good thing to stop a bike from falling with.

I had a "rolling" accident sorta like this, once.

I was rolling my old XS650 down a ramp into my basement, when it got away from me. It tipped over, and smashed my head into a concrete support post.

It hurt. A lot. I still have a lump on the back of my head from it.

Or how about this one. You are on the right side of the bike moving it in the shop and don't notice the kick stand bumps into something and flips up. You get to where you are moving it, let it down onto the "kickstand" and WHAM, right on the floor. Done that, MORE THEN ONCE!

a couple weeks ago I was rolling the bike out of my courtyard (i live in apartments, not a castle ) and as I jumped onto the bike to roll onto the street I stepped on the shifter. Of course I didnt have the clutch pulled in so the bike stopped and fell over.

now thats embarrassing

Yeah, but at least it cost you about a grand vs. a $4k enduro...but I feel for your embarrassment.

Is this the confession thread?

Several years ago I pulled up to a gas pump next my buddy. He was between myself and the pump, on my left. I pulled close to him thinking about the hose reaching over his bike, then decided to exit my bike on the right side. I guess my foot hung on the kickstand or something and pulled it up a bit, then I lost my balance and over she went, right into my buddy's bike.

Left side only after that little blunder. 8)

KW4TX,
Best of luck with the lever and the sale. I can't imagine the lever is too expensive, and I'm sure someone will snap up the bike soon.

I used to know right where to go for used parts around here, but they moved and then closed up shop, so I'd be lost looking for used parts locally.

Reminds me of the time a buddy and I were comeing home after attending a friends wedding. We decided to stop at the Honda dealership and drool on some bikes to kill a little time. I was looking, but not touching the dirtbikes. He was sitting on everyone of the big roadbikes parked along the front window. Somehow, he bumped the bike next to him and it started to fall over. It fell into another bike at the end of the row. It fell out the plate glass window! 8O

One of the salesguys quickly locked the door. I knew we were screwed then. (all I could think was a phrase hammered into my head growing up-"Guilt by association") They called the alarm company and then a glass company then unlocked the door. Asked us if we needed anything else.

It likely did not bother my friend but it did me. I'm just glad I was'nt the one that knocked 'em down.
