Fuel valve question
Page 7 of my 2020 hawk deluxe manual Says . On- gas can flow to the nozzle
Off - gas can’t flow to the nozzle Res - gas can flow to the nozzle you you have run out of gas in the tank So there is a on , off ,, reserve on this bike , I can’t find a conventional valve on my bike Last edited by weiser23; 08-08-2021 at 05:01 AM. |

They probably recycled that part of the manual from the regular Hawk.

I guess that solves the clogged petcock theory.

My carbureted hawk has reserve setting on the petcock and it works. The fuel injected hawk dlx has a fuel pump in the tank.

Petcocks work fine with gravity feed systems but when you put pressure on them from an in-tank fuel pump there will be problems.
There is also the thing about a fuel pump not needing to push on a blocked source when someone fails to turn on the petcock at startup.
