How Much Oil Does The Tao Motor TBR7 Actuall Take???
I be confused!!! I went to change my TBR7 from factory "shipping oil" (whatever that is), and supposedly (according to Manual) one is to add 1.1L or or 1.16 quarts or 37 ounces.
I drained the factory oil (w/o spilling a drop), which read had to top line of dipstick and then put it into Slurpee type cup, and then put it into empty oil bottle after adding, but it only read 800 mL or only about 27 ounces on bottle! I watch a YouTube of someone changing their oil in same exact bike, and they are adding only seven (7) ounces of oil! - WTF? Do I need to add 7, 27, or 37 ounces of oil during a routine change??? - thanks! My idea was to add slightly less than nominal (1 quart vs. 1.1L), as I will be changing oil AGAIN at 600 miles to synthetic oil, and did not want to buy 2 quarts for only 5 ounces more. |

I think you will find everyone on here goes with 1 quart at change. I have always used just 1 quart (Brozz250) works out great. Also,..to note,...I use Shell Rotella T4 15w-40

Thanks! I did use that from brand new, but at 600 miles, I will definitely switch to either full synthetic Shell Rotella full synthetic oil, Delvac 1 full synthetic oil, or Chevron Delo full synthetic oil (whichever is cheapest in 1 quart bottle at Walmart.

Enough... add enough to get into the 'good' zone on the dipstick.. measure as you are adding and write that down somewhere. I think that inconsistency is the only constant for most of these bikes, trying to compare one to another may not be useful.

I assume you read dipstick when it is screwed fully IN and not just sitting on top not screwed in, right? |

I always go by NOT screwed in, sitting on the bike, and holding it perpendicular to the ground the best I can. Don't these have a sight glass also?

Drain it. Dump in a quart of your preferred lube, ride.

Do you level bike (i.e. off kickstand) to drain every drop of old oil. or is it not necessary?

You'll never get every drop out. I usually rock bikes to make sure I get rid of most of the oil that's in the bottom of the case.
