Adjustable air mixture screw

Most of mine have been posted elsewhere but I wanted to try to collect as many as possible in one thread.

This air mix screw is available on ebay or amazon, cut a slot in the factory break off screw so you can get it out with a flat head. Cut the air mix screw off then file it down into a flat heat. JB Weld the two together, now it's easy to adjust air fuel mixture while test riding. This one definitely helped me get the bike running really good.

Silencer Tip for open exhaust

I made a baffle out of a piece of aluminum pipe off of a piece of furniture, also wrapped the exhaust tip with as much header wrap as I could fit under the plastic. Turned the tip into a silencer. It works good, still sounds throaty and deeper, it’s still a bit loud but way better.

Mesh body panels

I had an old screen laying around that already had velcro sewed on one edge, used industrial self adhesive velcro and gorilla tape on the other seams.
Obviously no body panel there since it's air cooled. It may retain a tiny bit of heat when sitting still, but I'm very rarely sitting still.
I thought it would help keep more air coming in from the front cowl going across the jug, carb, airbox and exhaust. Maybe keep some debris from the road out and look cool.

Putting together an alternate setup for street only days. Wanted a shorty front fender and had to make the mounts out of aluminum. Since the forks are inverted, it had to mount to the guards. Just finished, haven't mounted on the bike yet.

Mounted this morning...

Backing plate to cleanup rotors

As mentioned previously, most if not all of these were posted elsewhere. Just trying to have a thread full of home fabrication stuff. Add yours, it may inspire or help others.

Here is my method for cleaning up rotors:
Made a backing plate to attach to grinder. Spin it, lightly hold the vibrating sander on it with 80 grit twice, block with 80 grit once, block with 220 grit twice. Clean up everything else with fiberglass brush and drill. A lot to do this time but I'll have the backing plate forever.

CSC TT250 Speedo Gear with Ninja 250 Wheel

Modified the CSC speedo gear housing and the Kawasaki gear drive to use a stock CSC speedometer with my Kawasaki wheel. Posted with the Supermoto wheel thread http://chinariders.net/showthread.ph...665#post366665
but wanted to add it to shade tree fabrication as well.
