Hello from the PNW

Just placed a order for a Templar X 250! It's been many years since I had a dirtbike. I have a ohv area and miles of logging roads just minutes from my home and I've been itching to go check them out. This will also give me a excuss to keep up with my grandson once he learns to ride the Yamaha TTR50 he's getting for his birthday (provided he doesn't find it under the tarp in the garage before then).

Welcome Weeble!
Washougal is a viable retirement destination for us. Or maybe Stevenson, or the other way in Longview. Lots of places to ride!

The Templar is an excellent choice. You will love it!

On the lowering... I slipped the front forks up about 1inch. That, and the ~1inch higher lower mounting position on the rear shock dropped it 3 full inches. I am going to do the same on my 5speed Temp X (the earlier version of TempX from last Summer). But I am going 5/8inch on the new shock mounting position. 1 inch is a bit too extreme for me. It loses tractable rear suspension travel. Not that I am a high jumper but 2 to 2-1/2 inch drop is enough for me.

Also, when you sit on it, the bike drops a couple of inches. You can leave the kickstand down, put left foot on the foot pegs and stand right up on it to throw your leg over. Then lift the kick stand. You should be OK.
