People are charging 1799 for a Lifan 200cc

I just noticed people are charging at a minimum $1799(without shipping) for a lifan. IS a Lifan worth that much? I know my Roketa needs repairs every other day....

No actually 1899 from a guy named bruce

8O @ 1899 that price is pretty much the same as a late model used 200-250 CC name brand bike without better quality parts and reliability. If folks start getting too greedy, there goes the chinese bike craze,

This is how capitalism works. Supply and demand.

I don't care how much demand there is, They are not worth that kind of money... I am A China bike fan but I'll buy a used Jap before that.

Yup I think prices are going up because of the devastation caused by the quake in China....it makes sense......production goes down so companies have to sell less for more in order to profit...you could find a used Jap for around $2000 if you look but China bikes are not all that bad if you dont mind fixing them up from time to time and you take care of them.you can kind of beat up a Jap bike more but other than durability and maybe better mechanical and plastic components....but after a few thousand miles those can start to need replacements as well....the best deals in dualsports are still the China bikes I think, unless you manage to find a sweet Kawasaki 250 priced low, parts for the China bikes are still a major issue though, I wouldnt pay $1800 for a Lifan either although they are very good Im sure......see if you can find a cheaper one, mine was $900, probably not Lifan quality but very close and very good bike so far!

No, I'm not a dealer, but I do believe in the enterprenurial spirit of capitalism.

If thats what they tell you to say then OK (Dragon must be down to his last rice bowl-playing it ultra safe)

Actually the dealer said they were korean but I doubted that and noticed that all the stickers were off of them but I wonder if the crated ones still had the stickers.he has 10 or so and isnt really advertising them so i think they will be there for a while and I may still grab one for a parts bike.

That's a bit much when you could get (2) shipped to your address for that amount...I did. $1700 actually. I knew I was getting a good deal when I got the quote, so it may not be possible to get again...BUT I just ordered (2) 2008 Roketa MC-70-150 scooters for $2400, so you may want to shop around these days. Purchasing more than one always helps with the shipping, so if you have a friend to go in with, you can save some money.

A local dealer here wanted $2400 for a lifan GY5. I told him what they were going for off of ebay and that I could get a 250cc Hi-bird for $1200. He responded that the GY5 was a 250cc and he would lower the price to $1500. This was back in late April shortly after I broke my leg, so I was just window shopping and not serious about buying. Today the same bike is sitting on his lot.

That's funny! You don't live her in Columbia, SC do you? I had a discussion with a "dealer" with almost the exact scenario before I bought the '06 Roketa.
