I want to install a helmet holder/lock
I know that some of these bikes come with a helmet lock, but mine didn't. Do any of you know where I can get one? I don't care if it uses the same key as the ignition, I just worry about the helmet getting stolen.
Thanks |

I use this backpack lock. I like it. The cord stretches and makes life real easy. It's not very secure, but it deters the small-time thieves. Tie the cord around the top part of the rear rack; and let the helmet rests on the rack. I wouldn't mount a lock low because dirt and grease on the lower part of the bike will make your helmet dirty and greasy if you do.

I was sort of thinking about just using a Master Lock on the back rack because it is cheap and easy. But I'm afraid that when the helmet is not on it the lock will just bounce around breaking things. What do you think?

But, the backpack lock that I mentioned above won't bounce much because of the flexible cord. It's like a bungee cord.

I don't know if Walmart has 'em. I don't recall where I got mine. I think I had to drive all over town for it.

I bought a cable lock at the local dollar store and it works great.
Yes it was made in China as well... When not using it I put it in my tankbag. Can't complain for a dollar. Hope this helps. The lock... Helmet locked to the rack...

I really like your idea of the cable lock to secure your helmet to the rear rack Eazy!
Its cheap, quick to install and remove your helmet and it doesnt require modifications to make happen, real ingenious actually. +1 |
