My new Adventure 150cc
I just purchased a slightly used ChuanL Adventure 150cc scooter with just about every performance part that is made for these things. It came with an MRP exhaust, upgraded, CDI, ignition coil, iriduim spark plug, Dr. Pulley weights/springs/clutch parts and a kevlar belt. It also has a UNI pod filter.
It came with a spare motor that had a rod bearing failure, the stock exhaust and some other goodies. My question to you guys, since this is my first scooter, I've ridden motorcycles for years, is how long can I expect this bike to last. It's my daily commuter and I'm not the kind of guy to hot-rod around all day long. I just ride it to where I'm going. I keep it around 60mph for a few miles and then hit back roads where I travel around 45. I use synthetic oils in everything that I drive/own/operate and I usually maintain my vehicles better than the next guy. How long is this scoot gonna last with these performance mods? If they are known to have a detrimental effect on life-span, I can always just switch back to the stock components. I'll probably keep the upgraded clutch and ignition components. They can't hurt the bike. I guess I'm more concerned with longevity of the bike with the performance exhaust. Thanks in advance for the responses. -Jonathan |
