Where or who to buy a china motorcycle dp 200 from?
I've been coming and going for a while visiting this site, trying to decide whether to buy chinese dualsport or not. One that I won't have issues liscensing, getting parts for or cost an arm or a leg.
A couple of brands I considered are the Lifan gy6, the Roketa 200 dp bike. Id buy a 250 if parts were easy to get. I understand that this summer there was a china bike crunch due to the big earthquake over there. A couple of concerns I have about the lifan is i heard they were having tranny issues. The roketa seems to be strong. Id appreciate help on prices etc. I saw a lifan 200gy shipped for 1595.00 is this average for a china bike or can they be had for less. Your help and opinions will be greatly appreciated. Happy riding |

1500ish is about right, although you can find them cheaper here and there. Beware, because cheaper can mean harder to title and get parts for. I have a Lifan Gy-5 and haven't had any major problems in the 7000km I've put on it. Recently Pa. has banned all chinabikes with a vin that starts with the letter L. I had a few problems getting a title for my Lifan last june.

My recommendation is to take your $1500 and buy a used jap bike, if you lived in any other state I'd tell you to go with the Lifan or one of it's counterparts.
