Vibration

I am getting some serious vibration from my speedo. It is coming from the ignition. If I grab the key while riding down the road it stops. If I dont hold it, it is really annoying. I am picky about little vibrations, so I was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions. Thanks

Well, on mine the speedo cable connections were loose on both ends. The connection at the wheel almost fell off, the connection in the back of the gauge just rattled. Give them alittle locktite and see if it helps.

Shea, Is it rattling inside the ignition housing or is it just your keys rattling?

I already put lock tite on the speedo cable. I only use that one key for the bike, there arent any other keys with the key to vibrate against. I am pretty sure it is the ignition housing.

Have you tried or has anyone tried to take off the speedo/odo housing?

Can you get to the ignition from there?

I tried that while putting lock tite on everything. I loosened all four screws on top of the housing, but there were one or two screws on the bottom of it still holdin on. I really didnt feel like fooling with it so I didnt. when I get my new fairing for my headlight, I'll take it all down and look inside to see if it can be fixed.

Steering lock, ha, ha, If someone really wanted your bike all they'd have to do is throw it in the back of a truck, they don't weigh that much...

yea, but without the steering lock, they get to roll it, which would take 20 seconds.. if they cant roll it, it could take them another 20-40 seconds to do the same thing.. may give you a chance to catch them, and lay a boot across their forehead.
