new sproket
i went from a 56 tooth sproket to a 44 how many links should i remove?

Put the chain on the bike,go around both sprokets and make sure the rear wheel is slid foward as far as possible within the guide adjuster for the rear axle. Over lap the chain and count the number of links where the over lap begins,make sure to hold the chain as tight as possible eliminating as much slack as you can. Mark the over lap spot starting point, add one link to your length and cut or grind flat the pin, then punch it out . This way will allow you not to screw up an cut your chain too short. This is my simple stupid way to do it but it has always worked fine for me. You can always cut another link out if need be down the road.
