Title in TN

It's like this. I bought a used panterra a while back and need to title it. All I have is a bill of sale, not notarized. I don't even know for sure what year it is. It was sold as a 05 but I can't find anything to verify it. The VIN stamping is LLCHYP10141001038. If this can provide any type of info I would like to know. What can I expect when I try to get it registered and so forth? Is there anyway to get a MCO for it? Thanks for any help.

That is why I bought a used bike already titled in Tennessee. I had read too many horror stories about registration issues to try any other way.

There's a thread around here somewhere with a more complete breakdown of VIN numbers (couldn't find it in my quick search), but the 10th character is the model year. So, according to the VIN you posted, yours is a 04.

However, I think it's common for a bike to be manufactured (and stamped) one year, then registered as the following year model. For example, my Lifan is registered as an 08, but the frame says it was built in 07.
