Is this a trick question? There have been several new 250 and up models in the last few years/months that seem to have the goods, although the price is a little up there for Chinese bikes.

First up is the Puzey of South Africa designed, OEM'd in China XTR 250 enduro and motard, sold by Pitster Pro in the US (and apparently, Canada):

I had thought these were made by a small company in China called Galaxy, but apparently, they are made in a no-name company that OEM's several bikes for higher end companies like Pitster Pro and Puzey, etc.

Then there is the soon to be released CPI bike with a 250 (I think it's the same liquid-cooled engine as found in the XTR 250), although the website to the company distributing them seems to be offline...

The most promising are the Xingyue bikes--4 different bikes each with a 400cc engine. It seems that Roketa is distributing them:

There are some Xmoto and Apollo 250 bikes, but they seem more like hardcore bikes that happen to have street equipment (in other words, not too comfortable!). Here is one for example:

others will chime in, too

They seem to be a lot more expensive than the 200's...that's a lot of money for china bikes, or so it seems ( talking about the xingyue's

The Xingyues can be ordered direct from Xingyue, as long as you sound like you are a potential dealer and want to buy a sample. However, you will have to pay the shipping for one bike, and risk damage due to having just one bike shipped as opposed to a full container of them. I do think that the bikes will come out cheaper than buying from one of the US online dealers.

Calcune, what kind of price were you seeing when you were thinking of importing? I got quoted 3150 USD crate price delivered to US Border.

Pimptron, I do think you have Xingyue 400's direct from Xingyue Canada, and probably higher priced than the US Xingyues.
