Spring in the desert

Again, the camera phone pics don't do it justice but we had a spring rain and the wildflowers have been blooming and the trails are not dusty so it was a great afternoon for a little ride on the GY.

Montana does not have the monopoly on 'Big Sky'. As you can se. we have plenty out here in Eastern Washington!

Great pictures, always interesting to see different parts of the country, not a tree in sight.

When do your new tires arrive?

We have trees, but mostly along the rivers and in irrigated areas. Not so much in the desert. Sure does make for great riding (and shooting :P ).

Tires should be here late this week.

What color is that bike? When I look at the first pic looks black/white but last one looks clearly blue... LOL.
BTW, I pulled the swing arm bolt on mine to take a look and it was dry as a bone, its easy to lube up tho, just don't pull it all the way out, lube the exposed part, and shove a ton of grease on a drift or small screw driver in from the other side-spread it all around, and then push the bolt back thru and bolt her down. Made a big difference on the ease of action of the rear suspension.

Lack of grease *could* be a major factor in the bolt failures reported in that other thread as when the bolt is binding in there, its getting torqued constantly.

Thanks for the tip! I have a grease fitting on mine, but I don't think my grease gun could get to it. I'll try your method. Are the bushings plastic or metal?

The bike is blue and white. The cell phone does not have a great camera, but it's better than nothing!

Doc, with scenery like that, you need to invest in a digital camera!

That is beautiful scenery, Doc! I moved this thread over to the "Ride Reports" forum so more people can enjoy your photos of Eastern Washington.

Desterts are kind of interesting. If you drive through them or don't look for the details, you don't see the subtle beauty in the openess.

Amen! The flowers in the desert are magnificent in the Spring. I need to ride my bike over to Craters of the Moon National Monument in June when the flowers peak. I will be sure to take lots of photographs!
