Mono Shock Replacement

I rode my Chinese copy just a little too hard. I have a gy-200 2005. The bike as served me well and I have had no problems until now. I hit a hill just a little to hard and over extended the Mono shock in the rear and it is now broken at it weakest point at the top near the top eye. I welded it and I was sure it was going to hold but no luck. It will not hold and needs replacing. I have found no information on a suitable replacement. The shock is around 11 1/2 inches eye to eye which is a rough guess since mine is damaged. The shock can be or was adjustable. The top eye and bottom eye are the same size and I am sure they are metric but close to 1/2 an inch in diameter. Has anyone found a replacement?

I just happen to have an XR200 shock out in the shop.

I will post accurate dimensions over the weekend.

This looks like it would fit in my Roketa.

I don't think it would fit mine for $150!! However, there may be a way to cross reference other mono shock replacements meeting the 2001 XR200 specs.

The roketa I just got (the 2005 I have been complaining about) is like the first one. It has the threads on the shock body.

Jason, your 06 has the 1st type with one open and one closed end on the shock?? Mine doesn't. That's kinda weird??? Here is my rear assembly. Notice the shock on the left.

Still no luck no replacement has been found yet. I have found orginal replacement but i was hoping to find a betterr one without having to modify the shock mounts.

Shane, If you found the original then I would go with that, I don't think you're going to find any good aftermarket shocks without having to modify them...Look for an earlier post here about this...

Now that I've gone and looked at it more closely, you're right they are both closed like you said. Sorry for the confusion.

Sokay Bro! Anyway, it would be nice to find a decent replacement for the stock spring/shock setup that is stiffer then a wedding night hardon. It sure looks like the xr shock I posted above would fit right in there. OB1, did you ever find out dimensions for us?????

Do we have any known dimension(without disassembly) or a drawing to look at? I would have to guess that more than one shock will fit under there.

You're right about it being stiff. After 5000miles I'm glad to have a slightly bigger more road worthy tire on the rear. I can ride fairly comfortably with about 20-22psi. Otherwise it's almost like riding a hardtail.
