a few questions..

#1. Has anyone come up with a good solution to the chain slider? Mine with only 128kms on the dial is about halfway thru it.. I dont know if it will wear further, but i know my rim is COVERED in black rubber.. So i was curious to see what everyone is doing, or if it just wears to a point then stops..

What happens if it wears straight thru and i dont change/fix it?

#2. I need 3 people who would like to get the next size up jets for our fml163 family of engines. Let me know via pm if you would be down to go in on this, and i will get a price of what it will cost to get it.

#3. Has anyone replaced their factory hand guards "windbreakers" with acerbis or other misc hand guards? I want to get rid of the cheapo ones cause they are pretty terrible.

ps.. i also am looking for nintendo games (nes, snes) lemme know if you have any you want to sell to me. haha.. im an old school gamer...

Remember it's not necessarily the engine but the carb. I'm not sure that all the china bikes have the PZ27 carb that Red2003 was refering to. Some even have the PZ30, while others have ???

i took my hand guards off. i couldn't figure out how to keep the clutch lever from sticking without the turn signal being loose. with guards off it worked out fine. i didn't like them anyway.

I read a post some place about a guy going to walmart and buying a nylon cuting board and cuting a strip out of it with a band saw and riveting it in place. I don't remember if it was thumpertalk or a private blog.

I'm only doing the brake line cause I broke mine, otherwise I was considerin the rear sproket.

There have been a few members who have improvised a replacement--do a search on chain slider.

yea, i've seen most of the improvised fixes. but i dont recall seeing follow ups to those fixes I.E. did it work out in the long run, was it worth the effort etc.

I remember the cutting board one as wearing down also.

what i am curious about is how far it will actually wear thru. It seems on mine that the side links wear into the rubber deeper then the rollers do. I'm wondering if it will wear to a point then the rollers will just roll over the rubber and the links will sit in their grooves.

I guess i will just see how it pans out and then looks for a viable solution.

Should i be worried about it wearing all the way thru the rubber onto the swing arm? will this cause the chain to self destruct?

Suave,
I think the original will hold up for the most part, if not try th EZ fix and cut up a cutting board from wally world and don't keep your chain too loose, I'm surprised your having a prob w/ that???

Meant to say that they have cutting boards at Target for $1.98. Cheaper than Walmart at $4.
