The more things change they stay the same/am I getting old?

Just purchased 2 new Continental "Zippy" tires for my scooter. A "non-stock" item locally, so as a "special order", I have to live with them.

Made in Taiwan!

I recently had to renew my passport (note: renew, as in: I have had one for 40+ years). So, I sent all the "stuff" away (pics, cash, documentation, old passport), and I get a letter back in the mail: your birth certificate is: no good!. So, I call these passport folks up and ask them about this "bad" birth certificate "stuff". They inform me I have to apply for a "new" one? So, I get that phone number, and give those folks a call, and yes, it seems that my birth certificate went "bad" (when I wasn't looking)? Ok, I says, what do I need to apply for one that is "good"? Turns out I need the "bad" birth certificate, my health care, and a notarized copy of my drivers license (+$35). Ok, mam, I says, but can you tell me one thing, if I used the "bad" birth certificate to get all that other stuff (health care and drivers license), how is that stuff "good"? Needless to say she couldn't tell me.

All I ask is you kiss me first.

Sounds like they needed another $35.

Back to the tires.........

Mounted them up today. Rubber is soft, maybe softer than a comparable Michelin. Sidewall is stiffer than a Michelin (by about 20%), and stiffer than a Dunlop (by about 40%), a "bear" to install. Tread depth is good. Mighty "tight" on the rims, tire rated @ 48psi, I'm sure it took 60psi to "blow" the beads on, even with liberal application of dish soap. These are "P" rated tires (94mph).

Well then, it sounds like a high speed test is in order.
