what do you think of this HID light for my Zong?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-HI...Q5fAccessories

I have a few more questions also, would you go with a 6000 or 8000?
If you don't like this HID, do you see one you would buy?
Anything else you would think of to help decide which light to go with or tips for installation? thanks, alan

That HID kit looks pretty good to me Alan; I was considering the very same unit. I would choose the 6000K version. If you decide to buy this kit, you can save some money on shipping costs by purchasing it directly from the Virtual Village website.

When you get to the checkout window, apply the promotion code VVN392R, and you will save an additional $6.00.

You might also want to consider the following HID kit, which is even less expensive.

I was considering both of these HID conversion kits for my Zong, but I decided against them. First of all, I am quite happy with the illumination from my 55W/60W, H4 headlight conversion. Also, I didn’t want to take the chance of breaking Idaho traffic regulations, or potentially blinding other motorists with my headlight.

do you think the 55/60 H4 bulb will pull to many amps? I know the LED tail light will help but not sure if that's enough? thanks alan

I think your electrical system will work well with the 55W/60W, H4 bulb, Alan.

I just arrived home after riding my Zong in the dark. I am very pleased with the illumination from my H4 headlight! Also, I have ridden my Zong over some very tough trails since I converted to the H4 headlight. The H4 bulbs are built much better than the BA20D bulbs, and the H4 bulbs seem to be more resistant to vibration. I highly recommend you try the H4 headlight conversion before you decide to make an HID conversion.

It's very easy to convert the turn signals, and indicator lights to LEDs. The biggest hassel on this project for the Zong is soldering two diodes into the the hot wires leading to the turn signal indicator. However, The indicator lights are low power, and only the high beam indicator stays lit for any real length of time. Therefore, if you wished, you could just replace the high beam indicator with an LED bulb.

Alan, if you are considering coverting your Zong to LED turn signals, and indicator lights, you might enjoy reading the following thread.
