New project. 1987 Xr200 trade went through.

Well, two years ago I stopped at a garage sale. Lady had an xr200 in a shed in pieces. I asked about it. She wanted too much at the time. In another shed she had some other xrs that had not run in years. She wanted to get them running. I left my number and never heard back until about a month ago.

Worked out a trade. I got the other bikes running in trade for this bike.

1987 Xr200. Looks like the cam chain broke and it snap a valve. Engine is needs alot. I believe my OHV lifan will fit in this frame.

That project looks ambitious! The motor swap seems like the best way to go. Hopefully other Lifanoid parts will swap too. I picture a lot of time on eBay in your future!

All I can see that is really missing is the rear brake pedal and rod. It may be still in the shed that it was in. I am going to go back and look.

The plastic is okay. I am going to paint it. The tank I think I can stripped the paint off and back to the origianl color.

Otherwise I think just alittle wiring and some miscellaneous bolts.

Seat is not too bad.

Also needs a front tire to start, but I have one in the shed.

The rear is a 17" so I will need to buy one of those.

A former member had pretty much this same bike and the same lifan engine and did the swap.

The '87 is a good choice; Honda went back to the two valve head (meaning that the Lifan should drop right in) and the seat is a modern type that climbs the tank.

I think I have a spare brake pedal for our '83 that is likely the same. It's a bit bent, but let me know if you need it.

I will need the pedal and rod if you got it. Little bent is fine with me.

No hurry, I am going to do this one right. Starting with painting the frame.

I am sure I will find other missing pieces along the way. Overall its not too bad and Like WG said. No custom mounts needed for this one.

Probably need help with wiring.

Also going to use the xr carb since I can't find my lifan one.

Rear wheel I believe need bearings.

I have the xr harness. I think I may be missing a piece between the engine and the coil etc.

Going to make something to blend the lifan and honda wiring.

Since I am currently out of funds we will have to start with free things.

Part one will be stripping down to the frame and sanding/cleaning and prepping for paint.

Plan will be to have it running for fall riding.

Yep i can see the pics in the 1st post, not the ones that it seemed you were posting futher down though.

Its just the first post.

I have some more pics of the engine. It appears to have dropped a valve and totalled the top end.

W&G already claimed the parts.
