Check throttle

When I took the throttle apart to install new handle bar I found this:



The left one is OEM. It was close to breaking when I found it. You could probably peal pack the grip a little to inspect.

I wonder if the wear is cheap construction or simply lack of lube? I know my Lifan was practically dry from the factory.

Both, I think. It was dry but it is also very thin. The new one is not in there perfect as the return stop is different & leaves too much cable exposed so I still have a little work to do.

I don't think you're suppose to use lube there. Something about attracting dirt.

I always use lube under the throttle tube and around the housing that the tube rotates in. I use Maxima Chain Wax because it works, and because I'm using it on the cable as well.

graphite works pretty god in throttle cables and assemblies as well.

It looks thin to start with, I always add some lube to the tube 8O Not dirty I swear........ Looks like yOu got a honda part to replace it with.
