Help with Xmoto enduro project /swap to saga250 frame

Hey all

I have a opertunity to by a very nice Xmoto liquid cooled 250 bike and transform it into a ripping enduro BUT I need to find a larger fuel tank for it SO..... Who know where I can find a larger fuel tank to fit a Xmoto ( same as GIO ) or any other suggestions.

I don't have the bike yet as I am holding off to figure out my tank issues .The stock one is small ( for dirt track) and will not cut it. a 9 ltr tank would be awsome.

I'm not sure what your options would be for a tank for that frame, but good luck. Hopefully someone here can help out with that.

Perhaps you can ask Gio if they have any suggestions.

I did see that the x35 comes with a 5 liter tank and I still don't know if it will work on this model. 5 is still very small for enduro stuff.

It seems that xmoto is not in the enduro biz from what I see but the thought of a 250 L/C motor is nice.

Indeed, 5 liters is very small. :( My Zong came stock with a 2-gallon fuel tank, which was too small for me! Since my Zong is a Yamaha clone, I was able to employ a 4.1-gallon, Clarke fuel tank designed for the Yamaha XT225 motorcycle.

Is the Xmoto bike a Honda clone? If so, I would encourage you to research, and see if any Honda fuel tanks will fit.

Spudrider..

For sure I am looking into avail option with out reinventing the wheel.I find this "perimerter" frame business to be the "odd" part for me as I invision a "conventional tank" when I think of feul tanks.the tank on the x31 bike looks like it bolts to the frame flat.

Another option is to put the LC engine in the gy7 frame but this would be a waste of great suspension on the xb31

Keep tossing ideas and suggestions guys.

I wonder how close it is to a sportbike frame, maybe a used tank from a bike wrecker would fit?

Do any of you think the water cooled 250 would fit into the saga 250 frame?? It is the same as any gy 250 frame.

The bike has a CG250 air cooled engine and the donar would be a CB250. Are the mounts on the Cb the same as the aircooled one??

I only ask as I have not looked at the watercooled one yet.

Well either I touched on a magic subject that the ring holders are sworn to keep quite about or this swap idea has never been thought about before....

Nobody here has any experiances with the 250CB water cooler motor?? or knows if it is the same dimensions as it's air cooled sibling???

I don't think many of the liquid cooled bikes made it out.

I will look closely at this XB31 LC 250 motorbike very closely but if this looks like a go then I will have to make a new thread and post as it goes.

I guess I am one of the China Riders "ring holders," but I have never sworn to keep any secrets! I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with the 250cc, water cooled engine. Also, I don't remember hearing any reports from our forum members regarding this engine. :(

The ATVs are the only area where I have seen much of water cooled engines. Although I havent seen them in person, the motors look very similar except for the top end. I would think engine mounts would be similar. The hight of the motor might be different.
