hs200gy wiring
i just bought a sl hs200gy (assembly required) and it did not come with any instructions. I managed to get everything assembled, except for the wires in the front by the headlight. I dunno which color wire the kill switchs, brake, and some other colored wires hook into, can anyone help me out. If anyone reading this has this same bike can you help me match up the wires. Ill give more information on the wires if you know.

Welcome!
The dual sport guys who are knowledgeable about your bike will likely chime in.

I had the same issue when I bought mine, no instructions. However the wires were already hooked up. So I didn't have that particular issue.
This thread: http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=4788 has links to some wiring diagrams and may be helpful since alot of the bikes are very similar. Yours looks alot like mine so it may be wired the same. Somewhere I have an image file of my wiring diagram and if I can find it I'll put it up, it might help. |

It's a little blurry in the middle for some reason but if you save it and zoom in a bit you can make it out for the most part. Hope this helps. |

Got pics? Likely the wiring connectors should only fit one way.

This is the general view of the picture
This one is coming from the speedometer Kill switch male wire and a female wire coming from the light switch (controls headlights) Two other female wires. Basically there are 3 male and 3 female wires that are loose , just trying to figure which colors mix and match[/img] |

The wide connector in the last pic looks like the common ground for the right and left front turn signals.

No idea but it would be easy to determine by checking for continuity between the wire in question and ground and operate the switch. Do this with the ignition off, or the negative lead of the battery disconnected.

Buy a cheap ohmmeter or even a continuity tester at the auto parts store or Radio Shack. You sould find one for $15, maybe less. It is a tool you will use the rest of your life and worth having. Stick one probe in that connector and the other on a bolt or other non painted part connected to the frame. If that wire is for the kill switch when you switch it back and forth the continuity should also go back and forth.
Here's a great article on the subject, and a great online textbook for basic motorcycle mechanics. Brother Dan is a great teacher, and a faithful Christian as well. I encourage you to read and enjoy the entire website: http://www.dansmc.com/ http://www.dansmc.com/electricaltesting.htm

Personally, since it's down to two or three wires, I would just plug and pray. But that's just me.
