Should I or Shouldn't I?
My buddie offered to sell me his 78 Honda Hawk (Hondomatic) CB400 for $200 = The Bike is clean with NO Spark. I'm currently looking for a Bobber build project (again) I'm a sucker for punishment lol. Never ever drove one of these Automatics or no anything about them. As far as spark I'm thinking CDI? Coil? Shoot me some comments if you have some insight on this bike. - I'd love to hear them. :?:

Should you or shouldn't you? The answer is yes.
![]() I have no experience with the automatics, nor would I want to buy one that has no spark. Still, it's tempting...

Could be something as simple as a blown fuse... You won't know until you dig into it. If the rest of the bike is in decent shape it certainly sounds cheap enough

I don't like the Hondamatic per se but I'd buy just about ANY Honda for that price! There is a niche market for the Hondamatic you might be able to make a buck off of it.

Buy it. The Hondamatic, my father-in-law rode, rain and hot sun, for years commuting to work and back, daily.
It's heavy for its size, to be sure....but at that price....I'd spend more on beer in a month than the repairs will cost you!
